ProFuse Technology, an Israeli biotechnology firm, has received a EUR 2.4 million (~USD 2.6 million) grant from the European Innovation Council's Transition program. The grant recognizes the company's innovations and contributions in the cultivated meat field.
The grant will be used to advance ProFuse's muscle cultivation technology, which includes scaling production, securing safety regulation approvals, and fostering industry partnerships.
Analyst QuickTake: Over the years, the company has developed several noteworthy products that enhance the production of cultivated meats. In September 2023 , it unveiled a new scaffolding 3D growth technology that allows cultivated meat production within 48 hours. Following this, in February 2024 , ProFuse launched the PROFUSE-B8 cell line, which aims to help cultivated meat producers establish scalable, repeatable, and cost-competitive production processes without using genetic modification technology.
