Pairpoint and Sensos collaborate to offer new supply chain monitoring solution

Partnerships

  • Pairpoint, a blockchain-based IoT platform developed as a joint venture between Vodafone Group and Sumitomo Corporation, has partnered with Sensos, a supply chain solutions provider founded by Sony Semiconductors, to offer a blockchain-based supply chain monitoring solution.

  • The partnership will enable Pairpoint to combine its flagship Economy of Things (EoT) platform with Sensos' supply chain management system and smart tracking labels to relay real-time supply chain data to users. Users can track and record the movement of all goods, identify supply chain anomalies, and authorize automated payments.

  • The combined system was currently in progress with global logistics operator Unilog in the US and Europe. The company reportedly used the solution for automated logistic transactions, streamlining proof-of-delivery processes, asset sharing, inventory initiatives, and manufacturing audits.

  • Analyst QuickTake:   European telecommunication companies have been steadily ramping up their involvement in the enterprise blockchain space, with companies like Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone leading the charge. Notably, Vodafone is one of the most active in the space since it spun off its Vodafone Digital Asset Broker (DAB) subsidiary as a joint venture with Sumitomo Corporation in October of last year. It also recently partnered with Deloitte and Nexxiot in December to offer new solutions for improved cargo management.
