Toronto-based AI startup Cohere has released Aya 23, a multilingual language model capable of handling 23 languages.
The models are open-weight and enable customization of individual needs. Additionally, the models are available in 8 billion and 35 billion parameters.
The company claims that Aya 23 outperforms its predecessor, Aya 101, and surpasses Google’s Gemma and Mistral’s open-source models with better quality responses across all languages. Furthermore, Aya 23's balance for breadth and depth results in improved generative tasks and increased multilingual mathematical reasoning.
