Factorial Energy delivers B samples of EV batteries to Mercedes-Benz

Product updates

  • Factorial Energy, a solid-state battery developer, has delivered B samples of its 106+Ah lithium-metal solid-state battery cells to Mercedes-Benz. The delivery, part of their joint development agreement, is the world's first announced B-sample shipment of solid-state battery cells to a global automotive OEM.

  • Factorial has shipped 1,000+ 100+Ah solid-state battery cells to Mercedes-Benz as part of the company’s A-sample phase. The company also shipped its A-samples to automotive partners such as Hyundai Motor Group and Stellantis for testing.

  • Analyst QuickTake: In April 2024 , the company also partnered with LG Chem to combine battery material capabilities and next-generation battery material and process innovations to advance the development of solid-state battery materials. Factorial also opened a 200 MWh battery manufacturing plant in Methuen, Massachusetts, in October 2023 .
