Adsorbi launches cellulose-based air purification material for art industry

Product updates

  • Adsorbi, a Swedish startup developing bio-based materials for air pollutant and odor removal, has unveiled its maiden product, which is a material derived from cellulose designed to protect art pieces and delicate items from airborne pollutants.

  • Designed predominantly for galleries, museums, and archives, the product uses bio-based cellulose to absorb air contaminants and effectively purify the environment in storing and transporting artworks. Adsorbi reports the product has a long lifespan, high absorption capacity, and a color-changing indicator that signifies when replacement is needed.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The launch and commercialization of the company’s product follows a ~USD 389,584 seed funding round in August 2023 . The company also indicates plans to explore developing this core innovation into new offerings, catering to varied industries needing eco-friendly solutions for air pollution removal.
