MyForest Food debuts mycelium-based MyBacon strips in LA and San Francisco

Partnerships

  • MyForest Foods (formerly Atlast Foods), a company specializing in mycelium-based alternative meats, announces the availability of its mycelium-based MyBacon strips for the first time on the West Coast through a retail partnership with online grocer Good Eggs. This partnership increases the company's retail footprint to 550+ stores across the US.

  • MyBacon is a plant-based meatless bacon made from five ingredients: Organic oyster mushroom mycelium, salt, organic sugar, organic coconut oil, and natural flavors. It emulates the characteristics of bacon from animals while consuming less water and land and emitting less carbon emissions compared to conventional pork manufacturing.

  • Analyst QuickTake: This expansion of MyForest Foods to the West Coast follows its objectives of increasing geographic and online availability due to the growing consumer demand. In July 2022 , the company collaborated with two retail companies to offer the MyBacon on the East Coast for the first time.
