Bezos Earth Fund has granted USD 30 million over five years to establish a new Bezos Center for Sustainable Protein at Imperial College London. The Center will have seven departments focusing on developing and commercializing substitute food products.
The Center will research areas including cultivated meat, precision fermentation, AI, machine learning, nutrition, bioprocessing, and automation. It will also cover other facilities, including the Center for Synthetic Biology, the Center for Translational Nutrition & Food Research, and SynbiCITE. These centers will assist in the education and then commercialization of those learnings.
