BluSky Carbon commercializes CO2 removal with Carbonfuture

Partnerships

  • Germany-based Carbonfuture, a carbon removal marketplace, and BluSky Carbon, a clean technology carbon removal company, have announced a multi-year brokerage and monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) services agreement.

  • Through this partnership, BluSky will work with Carbonfuture to secure additional partnerships and advance the carbon removal industry. Carbonfuture will enable BluSky to sell its carbon removal credits to companies such as Microsoft and Swiss Re through its rigorous MRV process and marketplace for permanent carbon dioxide removal (CDR) credits.

  • Analyst QuickTake: This partnership was announced on the heels of a seven-year agreement with Swiss Re , a reinsurance company, to supply at least 70,000 tons of biochar carbon removal (BCR) credits from Exomad Green, a Bolivian biochar producer, in June 2024. In December 2023 , Carbonfuture signed an agreement with Microsoft for BCR credits.
