Trigo, an Israel-based computer vision startup, has partnered with German retailer REWE Group to launch a cashierless supermarket in Hamburg, Germany.
The store, spanning 1,200 sq m and offering 20,000 items, is touted as Europe's largest computer vision-powered supermarket. The store offers three self-checkout options: 1) computer vision-powered mobile app-based checkout, 2) computer-powered checkout kiosks, and 3) traditional self-checkout kiosks that enable customers to self-scan their purchases. The store also offers manned cashiers to facilitate traditional checkout.
Analyst QuickTake : Trigo and REWE have launched cashierless store concepts in Munich and Düsseldorf , Germany. REWE also launched its first cashierless store in Romania in June 2024 with Trigo.
