Nestlé debuts new plant-based alternative meat for minced meat recipes

Product updates

  • Nestlé, one of the world's largest diversified food and beverage companies, has launched Maggi Rindecarne, a plant-based meat alternative that can be combined with minced meat to double the number of servings at an affordable price while retaining nutritional value and taste.

  • This new meat alternative, a meat extender, is made from a combination of soy and spices. According to Nestlé, it is shelf-stable, versatile, customizable, and can be used to prepare various minced meat dishes.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Nestlé's plant-based alternative product range includes its soy-based Maggie Veg range and plant-based white fish alternatives under the Garden Gourmet range. In December 2023 , it unveiled Maggi Soya Chunks, which claims to contain less saturated fats and cholesterol than animal protein while mimicking the taste, texture, and functionality of animal meat.
