A2Z Drone Delivery upgrades ‘RDSX Pelican’ delivery drone

Product updates

  • A2Z Drone Delivery (A2Z), a commercial drone delivery solutions developer, has upgraded its flagship hybrid VTOL delivery drone, the "RDSX Pelican," with a more modifiable open-source flight controller.

  • The Pelican's new open-source flight controller allows users to integrate their preferred flight systems and companion software with the drone, including ground control software and radio beacons.

  • With these upgrades, A2Z aims to optimize the RDSX Pelican for US manufacturing. It seeks National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) compliance and Blue UAS certification from the US Department of Defense's Defense.

  • Analyst QuickTake: A2Z unveiled its RDSX Pelicon in May 2023. It can fly at a maximum speed of roughly 50 mph, carry up to 11 lbs, and cover a range of 31 mi without payload (25 mi with an 11 lbs payload). It is pitched toward applications including medical delivery, shore-to-ship delivery, inter-site transport, search and rescue projects, and other last-mile logistics purposes.
