Lilium partners with Thales Group for navigation and communication antennas

Partnerships

  • Lilium, a Nasdaq-listed eVTOL jet developer, partnered with a global leader in airborne communication and navigation solutions Thales Group, to source navigation and communication antennas for use in Lilium's eVTOL jets.

  • The agreed shipset for the Lilium Jet will comprise a combination of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and bespoke antennas. These antennas will include VHF Com + GPS, Wi-Fi/LTE, ELT, GNSS, DME, VOR, LOC, Glideslope, UAT, and Transponder, facilitating the Lilium Jets' seamless communication and navigation capabilities.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Recently, Lilium has initiated several partnerships to advance its Lilium Jet and eVTOL operations. These partnerships included Luxaviation Group in May 2024 to develop electric ground infrastructure for its jets across Europe, Milan Airports, and Skyports to develop vertiports in Italy in July 2024 , and also Groupe Aéroport de Paris (ADP) in July 2024 to develop eVTOL infrastructure across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Lilium also concluded its jet propulsion system's first tests at maximum thrust in June 2024 and, in July 2024 , expanded its POWER-ON suite, which provides digital solutions to facilitate efficient operations of its Lilium Jets.
