Instacart, a smart cart solutions provider, has partnered with grocery retailer Aldi South to deploy its suite of retail technology solutions in stores across the US and Europe.
Under the partnership, the two companies will initially pilot Instacart's “Caper Carts” smart cart solution in Aldi South stores in Austria, marking the first deployment of the technology outside the US.
Aldi also plans to integrate Instacart’s "Connected Stores" technologies, including “In-store mode,” which enables customers to view details about grocery items within stores using Instacart’s mobile app, and "Carrot Tags," special e-ink price tags that can assist shoppers in finding items in the stores.
