Nosh.bio, a food tech startup, partnered with zur Mühlen Group, a major European sausage producer, to launch "Koji Chunks," a single-ingredient meat analog. The partnership also attracted new investments from ApolloCapital, Check24 Impact, and zur Mühlen Group.
The partnership will introduce Koji Chunks, available in five flavors, through zur Mühlen Group's extensive retailer network, starting in Germany. The product, made from Nosh's non-GMO fermented fungi ingredient, aims to meet consumer demand for cleaner labels and transparency in food products.
Analyst QuickTake: Nosh’s mycoprotein ingredient was launched in April 2024 , allowing the development of single-ingredient meat and seafood substitutes. The company claims this ingredient is cost-competitive with current alternatives and offers a savory-tasting, color-neutral product with inherent binding capabilities.
