Capella Space launches two satellites consecutively

Product updates

  • Capella Space, a space tech company providing synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data solutions, launched two third-generation satellites consecutively, the Capella-13 (C-13) and Capella-15 (C-15), in August 2024 within five days.

  • The two satellites were launched into different orbits: C-13 in a mid-inclination orbit from New Zealand and C-15 in a polar orbit from California.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Rocket Lab launched the C-13 on August 11, 2024 , to LEO aboard its Electron rocket from New Zealand as part of the "A Sky Full of SARs" mission. Rocket Lab had also previously launched satellites for Capella Space in March and September 2023 . However, the September Capella launch was unsuccessful due to failures in Electron’s upper stage.
