Rocket Lab, a space launch and travel company, has successfully launched its 34th Electron Rocket. Named “Stronger Together,” this mission marked Rocket Lab’s second launch from US soil and deployed two 100 kg Capella Space satellites to low-earth orbit.
While this mission launched from Rocket Lab’s Launch Complex 2 (LC-2) situated within NASA’s Wallops flight facility in Virginia, Capella Space was gearing up for another mission from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand, slated to launch before the end of March 2023.
Next Rocket Lab mission will carry a payload for real-time geospatial intelligence provider BlackSky with additional missions NASA , Kinesis, Capella Space, and Astroscale Japan in the pipeline.
Analyst QuickTake: While companies such as Virgin Orbit and ABL Space Systems struggled, Rocket Lab was successful in its maiden launch from US soil in January 2023. Further, the company inked a multi-launch deal with Capella Space , while its Q4 top line exceeded analyst expectations last month. When considering these developments, Rocket Lab is on track to be one of the most successful launch companies in 2023, alongside the likes of SpaceX.
