Infinium, a developer of low-carbon electrofuels (e-fuels), has secured USD 200 million in strategic funding from Brookfield Asset Management, with a commitment of an additional USD 850 million for future projects.
The investment comes from Brookfield's Global Transition Fund and marks its first direct investment in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Brookfield will also be the lead investor in the company’s Series C Preferred Stock offering.
The initial USD 200 million funding will be used to accelerate the growth of Infinium's eFuels platform, including the development of Project Roadrunner, which is under development in West Texas, while a future USD 850 million will be used to deploy the company’s other eFuels projects globally.
Analyst QuickTake: In November 2023 , the company raised USD 75 million in a strategic funding round led by Breakthrough Energy Catalyst to fund its Project Roadrunner and signed a strategic agreement with American Airlines to supply commercial volumes of eSAF from its Project Roadrunner starting in 2026.
