Impulse Space, an in-space transportation startup, has formed a strategic partnership with defense tech firm Anduril Industries to develop advanced in-space maneuvering capabilities.
The collaboration aims to demonstrate highly maneuverable space missions for military operations in nontraditional orbits. Anduril will integrate its Lattice AI-enabled software platform with Impulse's Mira orbital transfer vehicle, allowing a single operator to control multiple spacecraft simultaneously.
The partnership will focus on capabilities of interest to the US Space Force (USSF) and intelligence agencies, including rendezvous and proximity operations, space domain awareness, and satellite defense. Both companies view this collaboration as key to enhancing national security space missions requiring rapid and agile space responses.
Analyst QuickTake: Impulse Space has been advancing its space-based missions with consecutive partnerships. The company recently collaborated with Exolaunch and Space Network Services for geostationary rideshare missions. This partnership with Anduril Industries would also support the USSF contract that Impulse Space secured in October 2024 to enhance US military capabilities in space domain awareness using its Mira and Helios vehicles.
