Lilium, an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft developer, and GE Aerospace, a global aerospace systems provider, have partnered to combine their flight data and analytics platforms for eVTOL safety standards.
GE's Event Measurement System (EMS) will be integrated into Lilium's POWER-ON aftermarket service, providing flight data monitoring and quality assurance capabilities. The partnership aims to establish safety foundations for eVTOL operators, with the technology being deployed first in Lilium's flight test campaign before customer deliveries are expected in 2026.
The collaboration will build an OEM-level Flight Data Monitoring program to monitor eVTOL safety at fleet level, leveraging GE's EMS platform, which is currently used by 60 airlines and over 500 business jet operators globally.
