Alternative protein startup Rebellyous Foods has introduced the Spicy Kickin' Patty, a new plant-based chicken patty alternative designed for K-12 schools, restaurants, and foodservice providers.
The Spicy Kickin' Patty is cholesterol-free, contains no antibiotics or hormones, and features a spicy, crunchy coating designed to resemble traditional chicken patties. It meets USDA National School Lunch Program requirements, providing two meat/meat alternate credits and a 1/4 grain credit.
Analyst QuickTake: The launch follows the company's recent development of Mock 2 production technology, which enables the production of 2,500–5,000 lbs of plant-based meat per hour. It recently partnered with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to provide plant-based meat items for school lunches and supplies to over 300 school districts nationwide.
