Smart ring maker Ōura has acquired Sparta Science, a Bay Area-based health tracking startup that offers a data platform for analyzing health and performance information, for an undisclosed sum.
Sparta Science's primary offering is the Trinsic platform, which tracks health vitals for enterprise clients and allows organizations to collect and analyze health and performance information.
Through this acquisition, Ōura plans to integrate Sparta's Trinsic platform into its B2B offering, Ōura Teams, enabling enterprise partners to combine Ōura ring data with third-party sources, provide insights on fitness and safety measures, and create customized dashboards for healthcare and government customers.
Analyst Quicktake: This marks the second acquisition Ōura has carried out in 2024. In September , the company acquired Veri, a Finnish personalized metabolic health company, for an undisclosed amount. The company noted that the acquisition of Veri was carried out to integrate Veri's expertise, expanding Ōura’s offerings in metabolic health. With its acquisition of Sparta Science, Ōura is further expanding its offerings to maintain its market position against competitors such as Samsung and Happy Health.
