Ottonomy, a delivery droid manufacturer, has partnered with DPD, a UK parcel delivery company, to deploy its autonomous multi-compartment delivery robot, "Ottobot," for last-mile deliveries in the UK. This marks Ottonomy's first deployment in the UK.
The robot will initially operate in Milton Keynes using the city's Redway network, allowing customers to receive parcels through a pin-based collection system.
Analyst QuickTake: The partnership expands DPD's existing autonomous delivery operations, which began in July 2022 in collaboration with rival droid-based delivery services provider Cartken. That was first debuted in Milton Keynes and was later expanded to include cities such as Raunds, Bristol, and Lincoln in the UK.
