Ottonomy partners with DPD to deploy autonomous delivery robots in UK

Partnerships

  • Ottonomy, a delivery droid manufacturer, has partnered with DPD, a UK parcel delivery company, to deploy its autonomous multi-compartment delivery robot, "Ottobot," for last-mile deliveries in the UK. This marks Ottonomy's first deployment in the UK.

  • The robot will initially operate in Milton Keynes using the city's Redway network, allowing customers to receive parcels through a pin-based collection system.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The partnership expands DPD's existing autonomous delivery operations, which began in July 2022 in collaboration with rival droid-based delivery services provider Cartken. That was first debuted in Milton Keynes and was later expanded to include cities such as Raunds, Bristol, and Lincoln in the UK.
