Einride, a Swedish autonomous truck manufacturer, has partnered with US home appliance manufacturer GE Appliances (GEA) to deploy its autonomous trucks at GEA’s facilities, marking Einride’s first deployment in the US.
Initially, Einride will launch its fleets of trucks at three GEA’s locations in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia, starting from its 750-acre Appliance Park campus in Louisville, Kentucky.
The trucks will be remotely controlled at first, with plans for a gradual transition into autonomous operations in the future.
Through the partnership, GEA hopes to save 970 tons of carbon emissions within the first year of deployment.

Analyst QuickTake: Prior to this, Einride has formed several commercial partnerships with local businesses including DB Schenker, Lidl, Oatly, and Electrolux. The necessary funds for the US deployment were made available to the company in May, when it raised USD 110 million in a Series B round to scale deployments in Europe and expand to the US. Einride’s peer companies including TuSimple, Gatik, Kodiak Robotics, and Aurora Innovation are also conducting commercial and trial operations in the US, mostly in Texas.
