Zwift, an online fitness platform, expanded its product offerings with the launch of two new products, Zwift Wheel (a direct-drive smart trainer) and Zwift Ride (a smart bike). These new products will mark Zwift’s entry into physical fitness with its own equipment from the virtual fitness world.
Zwift Wheel, a wheel with illuminated edges, features virtual shifting protocols, a wireless game controller for steering, braking and other controls, etc. A key product feature of the Zwift Wheel is that it can be transformed into a Zwift smart bike or users’ own bicycle by adding on the wheels. Further details of the product are yet to be released. The unit will be priced at around USD 1,214.
Zwift Ride bike features immersive lighting and a wireless game controller, supports vertical storage, and can be adjusted to fit taller riders. The unit will be priced at around USD 2,294.
Zwift is an equipment and software producer that specializes in developing and hosting virtual cycling races. With the Zwift virtual environment, users can ride in groups and participate in races. Users can access and take part in Zwift with a basic set of hardware—a trainer, a bike, and a computer.

Analyst QuickTake: The news comes almost a year after Zwift announced its plans to enter the connected fitness market by introducing three at-home fitness hardware devices. The necessary funds for the launch of these hardware products were made available to the company in September 2020, when it raised USD 450 million in a Series C funding round primarily for this purpose. The set prices are also in line with other connected bike offerings of companies such as Peloton, Echelon Fitness, and Nautilus, which retail between USD 1,040 and USD 2,495.
