Kindbody, a fertility services provider, has announced the acquisition of Vios Fertility Institute and its chain of clinics for an undisclosed amount. The deal propels Kindbody’s valuation to USD 1.15 billion.
Founded in 2015, Vios Fertility Institute owns a network of fertility clinics across six states, including Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin. Vios Fertility offers a range of fertility treatments including in vitro fertilization (IVF), egg freezing, frozen embryo transfer (FET), and fertility preservation.
The acquisition of Vios Fertility Institute and its network of clinics doubles Kindbody's national footprint to 26 clinics and Kindbody expects to expand this to 40 by the end of 2022. The deal expands Kindbody’s fertility benefits offerings and makes fertility care more affordable and accessible for employers and consumers. Vios Fertility Institute will rebrand to Kindbody and will integrate Kindbody's patient portal, electronic medical record (EMR), and telehealth platform into its operations.
Kindbody and Vios Fertility Institute together performed nearly 10,000 fertility treatments and served thousands of patients in 2021, which they expect to double in 2022.

Analyst QuickTake: Earlier this month, Kindbody launched its first consumer product Kind at Home, and forayed into the fertility test kit market for women and men. The expansion through Vios Fertility acquisition aligns with one of the planned uses of Kindbody's USD 62 million Series C fundraise in June 2021. It intended to use the funds to accelerate growth and expand access to its partner, signature, and mobile clinics. The USD 1.15 billion sticker price of Kindbody is nearly double the USD 612 million valuation fetched by its Series C funding round last year.
