Einride, a Swedish autonomous truck manufacturer, has ordered 200 “8TT” Class 8 battery-electric trucks from Chinese automaker BYD to support its customers in the US.
The trucks will be delivered over the next 12 months starting this month itself and will be paired with Einride autonomous software upon arrival.

Analyst Quicktake: Einride entered the US market last October by partnering with GE Appliances (GEA) to deploy its autonomous trucks at GEA’s facilities. Today’s purchase, we believe, would facilitate the deployment. In addition to the partnership with BYD, Einride has an agreement with Mercedes-Benz to purchase 120 electric trucks to support its customers in European markets.
