Renewal Mill, a California-based producer of upcycled food ingredients using the byproducts of plant-based milk, has announced a partnership with American dairy-free food producer Miyoko’s Creamery to launch a cookie made from upcycled and plant-based ingredients. The product was unveiled at the Natural Product Expo West event held in Los Angeles.

The cookie would be made using Miyoko’s Creamery’s vegan butter, along with Renewal Mill’s upcycled baking flour “Okara.” The product would reportedly be the first co-branded, upcycled product using Miyoko’s Creamery butter.
The cookies are available for purchases at a price of USD 2.99 per pack via Renewal Mill’s website. The two companies are also planning to add new cookie flavors, such as chocolate chip and snickerdoodle.

Analyst QuickTake: Renewal Mill has primarily focused on producing upcycled baking mixes that have been used by Fortune 500 food companies that sell the products in over 150 stores. The company has only launched one baked product for final consumption thus far, which is also a vegan salted peanut cookie product of its own. The new co-branded branded cookie product is the latest addition to the company’s product list, which is likely to allow the company to build another business line.
