California-based automated retail technology provider AiFi has partnered with Sodexo, the French campus food service operator, to bring eat>NOW brand autonomous grocery stores to campuses across the US.
The partnership will debut at the University of Denver on April 6, with an eat>NOW frictionless checkout-free grocery and convenience store.
Sodexo has also partnered with Yo Kai Express, a provider of high-tech vending machines, and virtual restaurant brand creator, Virtual Dining Concepts, to offer delivery-only menu options.
<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake: The agreement with Sodexo brings AiFi to a total of over 16 B2B partnerships. Notably, this partnership enables AiFi to make inroads into a space previously only tapped by competitor Standard Cognition . Since 2020, Standard Cognition has partnered with dining services partner Chartwells Higher Education to install cashierless checkouts across universities in the US and Canada, including the University of Houston and San Jose State University. It is likely that AiFi’s recent partnerships with players like Yo Kai Express and Virtual Dining Concepts will make for a well-rounded value proposition among university customers.<ul>
