Ananas Anam, a producer of patented vegan leather material “Pinatex” made from pineapple leaves, has partnered with Saucony, a US multinational athletic footwear and apparel brand, to supply Pinatex for the launch of the latter’s sustainable shoe “Jazz Court RFG.”
Jazz Court RFG replaces all leather components and overlays in the shoe with Pinatex and also features hemp-based laces and a plant-based mesh. The shoe is available to purchase online through Saucony’s online store, priced at USD 110.
To ensure smooth production of Pinatex, Ananas Anam has also partnered with Eco Fresh Ltd, a Bangladesh-based pineapple plantation business, to jointly repurpose all pineapple leaf waste from the plantation.
