Fabric, a provider of micro-fulfillment solutions for retailers, has announced the opening of its new on-demand micro-fulfillment center (MFC) in Dallas, to expand the on-demand network of MFCs in North America.
The new MFC which spans 13,000 sq ft can fulfill up to 28,000 items per day in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.
The company also announced that Chill Brands, a provider of hemp-derived CBD products, tobacco alternatives, and other consumer packaged goods (CPG) products, joins as the first customer. Accordingly, orders made on Chill.com will be fulfilled via the Fabric MFC.

Analyst QuickTake: Micro-fulfillment companies are now seen taking a different approach to market by providing on-demand micro-fulfillment services. Ohi is one such startup (serving several cities in the US) and Indian company Addverb also recently announced a partnership to offer on-demand micro-fulfillment services targeting the North American market. In contrast, other peers like Alert Innovation and Takeoff Technologies are more focused on offering the technology to retailers that want to establish their own MFCs. Funds required for this expansion were made available last October when the company raised USD 200 million in Series C funding.
