Vow, claimed to be the first Australian cell-cultured meat company, focuses on creating exotic cultured meat such as kangaroo, alpaca, and buffalo as opposed to traditional meats. The company’s first product Forged Parfait, a cultured Japanese quail product, is slated to reach restaurants in Singapore by 2024, pending regulatory approval. In October 2022, Vow opened its first production facility in Sydney (claimed to be the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere) with an annual capacity of 30 tonnes. The company already has plans to build a second, larger facility capable of producing 100x more meat than its Factory 1, which is expected to be operational in 2024.
In February 2023, Vow began the regulatory approval process with Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) and announced plans to gain regulatory approval in the US as well. In April 2024, the company received regulatory approval for its cultivated quail product, Quailia, from the Singapore Food Agency. Further, in November 2024, Vow received regulatory approval from Hong Kong's Centre for Food Safety to sell its cultured meat products and debuted its cultured foie gras product, Forged Gras, at The Aubrey in Mandarin Oriental.
