Founded in 2011, Axonify provides learning and communication solutions for frontline workers. The company's artificial intelligence (AI)-driven learning management system (LMS) uses micro-learning, gamification, and interval reinforcement to drive effectiveness. Axonify clients can access its library of content and build their own custom content with the support of the company's learning experts. As of March 2021, the company reported more than 160 customers across more than 150 countries.
In March 2021, the company acquired MLevel, the provider of a data-driven digital learning platform for enterprise clients, and plans to use its combined capabilities to expand its customer base. More recently, in June 2022, the company acquired Nudge, a communications platform, to strengthen Axonify’s adaptive microlearning solution by integrating with Nudge's two-way communications and task management platform.
Key customers and partnerships
In May 2020, the company partnered with OpenSesame, a library of e-learning courses, to provide Axonify customers access to OpenSesame's curated online training courses.
Funding and financials
In July 2020, the Government of Canada invested CAD 30 million (USD 23.6 million) in eight Canadian companies through the FedDev Ontario funding facility to support them in their efforts to grow and scale. As one of the eight companies, Axonify received CAD 7.2 million (USD 5.7 million) to support its expansion into global markets and into new sectors such as government and healthcare. In April 2021, Luminate Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on enterprise software, acquired a controlling stake in Axonify with a strategic investment of CAD 313 million (USD 376 million). The funds will be used for growth initiatives and new products. The transaction is expected to close in Q2 2021.
