Drivewyze, established in 2012, is a spinoff of the Canadian road technology company Intelligent Imaging Systems. Based in Canada, the company also operates an office in Dallas, Texas, and serves the North American market, with a presence in 49 US states and provinces as of February 2022. The company offers “Drivewyze PreClear,” a commercial vehicle bypass mobile application that sends instructions to bypass weigh stations, mobile inspection sites and even allows enrollment for automated e-inspections at weigh stations. The app gives both visual and audible notifications on whether to bypass or report for inspection, depending on local rules and regulations. The company also provides “Drivewyze Safety Notification,” which notifies drivers of possible hazards and severe weather updates. The application is available for USD 7.99 per month for a single state and USD 12.99 for a multi-state plan. Drivewyze claims to save truck companies around five minutes and USD 8.78 for every bypass while enabling law enforcement to prioritize trucks that need scanning.
Drivewyze also provides “Smart Roadways service”, a software application that provides real-time traffic alerts for commercial truck drivers. Smart Roadways service alerts drivers on areas where drastic speed changes or heavy traffic congestions are detected, enabling them to adjust their driving speed to avoid collisions. It can be embedded in electronic logging devices and also installed on smartphones and mobile devices. The application utilizes real-time traffic alert data of INRIX, a developer of software solutions for the automotive and transportation industries. As of October 2023, the service was available in seven states ( Georgia , Delaware, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike), with plans to expand to more states. It also released “Drivewyze Free,” a complimentary in-cab safety alert service for commercial truck drivers, in January 2023.
