Mirrorscape is the developer of the free-to-play AR tabletop roleplaying platform of the same name. The platform, which is accessible on smartphones and tablets, allows two to 10 players to project a 3D game board, including terrain, buildings, characters, monsters, and landmarks, onto any flat surface. Mirrorscape currently offers a 3D tabletop map builder, which offers assets for scenarios such as fantasy, adventure, sci-fi, horror, and strategy. Its interface is fully compatible with AR online lobbies, editable assets, and with various devices as well, with the platform being created using Qualcomm Technologies' AR2 smart glass system. The company announced its Open Beta program in June 2023 and would be available on XR operating systems, Android, and iOS devices.

Notable platform updates included 1) the launch of new assets, including castle terrain, water tiles, Dwarven Kingdom terrain, wilderness assets, monsters, and player minis (April 2023) and 2) a “Life Scale” feature which allowed users to view the map from their character’s point of view (December 2022).

Mirrorscape's plans for its interface include animated character models, monsters, and complex environments with spell effects. The company also expressed interest in integrating advanced gesture controls, facial tracking, haptic feedback, and geolocation tools. In addition to its gaming capabilities, Mirrorscape aims to serve as a platform for creators by integrating tools to create and share custom content.

The company generates revenue via the sale of in-game currency, with prices ranging from USD 1-370.

Key customers and partnerships

As of January 2024, the company’s mobile app had over 10,000 downloads. In July 2023, Mirrorscape partnered with tabletop roleplaying game company Paizo to bring the latter's titles, Starfinder and Pathfinder, into Mirrorscape's AR virtual tabletop platform, set to release in the summer of 2023.

Previously, in April 2023, Mirrorscape partnered with Qualcomm to integrate its ARcana gaming platform with AR glasses. Other partnerships include that with Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) companies, Dwarven Forge, Fat Dragon Games, Reaper Minis, Norse Foundry, and Hero Forge. These partnerships allow users to bring their creations to life or extend their physical terrain.
