OLALA (formerly Seafood Reboot) is a food tech startup based in France and conceived as a spin-off of Algama Foods in 2021 by Francois Blum and Simon Ferniot. The company specializes in producing alternate seafood using algae ingredients and seaweed. Its portfolio includes Salmonderful salmon alternatives, Tunalicious tuna alternatives, and Toramazing dips.
Funding and financials
In May 2022 , the company secured EUR 3.2 million (~USD 3.4 million) in a pre-seed round led by DEMETER PARTNERS, SENSEII Ventures, Founders Future Good, and Beyond Impact. The company intended to use the funds for finalizing R&D, the commercialization of its first-ever seafood alternatives, and the construction of a pilot production plant to be operational in 2023.
