Challengermode is a Swedish esports platform which allows users to compete in online tournaments. The platform can be used to find and create tournaments for players of all skill levels. The platform aims to make esports accessible to all gamers by offering the necessary online infrastructure. The company has partnered with the Dreamhack gaming convention, FIFA and UK esports team Fnatic to host online tournaments.
The company closed a USD 12 million funding round in August 2020 led by eWTP Innovation Fund (investment arm of Alibaba Group) and included participation from Telia Ventures, GP Bullhound and Swedish pro footballer, Zlatan Ibrahimavic. The funding will be used to fuel its expansion into the US and further develop its platform.
In February 2021 , the company announced the expansion of its international team, operations, and offering to the North American market. As part of the expansion, the company will drive customer acquisition, cultivate partnerships, and pursue integrations with game developers in assisting them to build an esports community for upcoming releases. A year later, it partnered with Singapore-based gaming and esports marketing platform Yup.gg and esports company NODWIN Gaming to expand its operations to the Latin American and South Asian markets respectively.
