Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is a privately owned global consultancy firm with offices in 50+ countries. BCG is one of the three largest strategy consulting firms known as MBB (includes McKinsey and Bain). In the 1970s, the company popularized the “BCG Matrix,” a portfolio management framework that is used widely in corporations and business school teaching. In 2023, BCG was named a worldwide leader in operations improvement consulting and AI services by IDC MarketScape, and reported a revenue of USD 12.3 billion in 2023.

BCG offers its services across several business units: BCG Digital Ventures (corporate innovation and digital business building unit), BCG GAMMA (advanced analytics and data science), BCG BrightHouse (purpose excavation and activation), Expand Research (financial decision support), Inverto (procurement and supply chain management), BCG Henderson Institute (idea generation for businesses), and BCG X (technology and design unit). Through these business units, the company offers services like business transformation, climate change and sustainability, innovation strategy and delivery, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), organization strategy, people strategy, and responsible AI.

BCG plans to increase demand for sustainability and climate business—the fastest-growing BCG business segment. The company pledged USD 2 billion to advance climate actions during 2020–2030. It also intends to become climate-positive in its own operations after 2030.
