NRG is an esports organization that competes in World of Warcraft, CS:GO, Hearthstone, Rocket League, Overwatch, and Vainglory among other games. Forbes ranked NRG Esports as the 9th most valuable esports organization in the world with a value of USD 155 million in December 2020. The company is backed by Jennifer Lopez, Marshawn Lynch, Alex Rodriguez, and Michael Strahan, among others. As of April 2023, the team had racked up total prize winnings of USD 6.9 million with Fortnite and Rocket League accounting for over 50%.
In April 2023 , NRG Esports acquired Counter Logic Gaming's (CLG) League of Legends division, including CLG's spot in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), along with their LCS team, academy team, coaches, analysts, and support staff. NRG planned to retain CLG's existing infrastructure, keeping all personnel and maintaining their facility in Culver City. Madison Square Garden, CLG's former parent company, became a major shareholder in NRG. Meanwhile, NRG intended to change CLG’s name to NRG, but the CLG name was expected to remain in use in League of Legends until the change was official.
In October 2023 , NRG Esports partnered with KIA, the American branch of the Korean car manufacturer. The collaboration involves adding KIA’s logo to NRG’s official championship jerseys for the upcoming 2023 League of Legends World Championship in South Korea.

In June 2023, NRG partnered with talent management and marketing agency AFK to help NRG procure brand marketing and sponsorship opportunities, as well as help with the overall growth of NRG’s brand.
In May 2021, the company partnered with Vietnamese lifestyle and entertainment company CMG.Asia. The two companies jointly launched NRG Asia to develop and represent esports entities in Southeast Asia. In addition, the companies announced that the joint venture, NRG Asia, had acquired one of Vietnam’s top esports organizations, GAM Esports, which was planned to receive training and infrastructure resources from NRG Asia. Furthermore, in June 2021, Andy Miller, CEO of NRG, revealed plans to build a national Vietnamese League of Legends team through NRG Asia. Miller also planned to expand NRG Asia to compete in additional esports titles, particularly in the mobile esports segment, noting games such as Wild Rift and Call of Duty Mobile as potential opportunities.
