CitySwift

CitySwift, an Irish multimodal mobility management platform, offers a range of mobility planning and management solutions. It uses AI-powered insights to improve the punctuality and reliability of the bus network. This includes 1) the Evolve module, an AI-powered solution designed for scenario planning of bus timetables; 2) a movement simulation and analysis software to allocate resources based on market conditions; and 3) the Discover offering, a range of dashboards designed to support customer pain points such as driver performance and demand forecasting. The firm's solutions are primarily used by UK bus operators and public sector authorities but it also has partnerships with transport agencies in Europe, the Middle East, and South East Asia. As of October 2022, its customers include British transportation providers Whippet and the National Express West Midlands (NXWM), which claimed a 9x ROI using CitySwift’s runtimes. 

CitySwift claimed that its solution is the first mobility-intelligence-as-a-service platform. Its data quality system leverages its proprietary algorithm to merge siloed data to obtain detailed route mapping, locations, demand, and network performance. It also uses its data engine to cleanse data and correct inaccuracies; connect the newly processed data sources and fill in the data gaps; and use image processing technique bounding boxes to deliver a more accurate vehicle location, origin-destination analysis, and geospatial matching of trips without a schedule. 

Key customers and partnerships 

CitySwift entered the North American market in January 2022 by partnering with New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority as part of a one-year pilot project to improve the customer experience and reduce carbon emissions, using its AI-powered solution to forecast passenger capacity. 

Funding and financials 

In February 2024, the company raised EUR 7 million (~USD 7.6 million) in a funding round led by Gresham House Ventures to further develop CitySwift's AI and machine learning platform. Previously, in October 2022, the company raised EUR 5 million (~USD 4.9 million) in a Series A funding round led by Act Venture Capital.
