Moveworks

Moveworks is a conversational AI platform that offers end-to-end employee support. Employees can converse with the chatbot to submit their requests and then have natural conversations to obtain answers. The platform can be used across teams including IT, HR, finance, facilities, and employee communications. Its products include

1) Copilot: A tool that helps employees search information through a conversational interface from internal data, knowledge articles, and updates across various systems

2) Search: A tool to assist unstructured and structured data search and summarization from internal databases, web, and other integrated systems

3) Service Management: A support process that resolves employee issues, find answers, file tickets, and track updates

4) Provision Management: Prebuilt automation for issues like resetting password, provision software, and PTO requests

5) Employee Experience Insights: A tool to investige the unstructured language in employee support tickets to visualize the issues slowing down the workforce

6) Knowledge Studio: A tool to generate articles from employee experience insights.

The company worked with several integration partners for IT service management (ServiceNow, Jira, and Zendesk), identity access management (Okta, Azure AD, and OneLogin), messaging (Microsoft Teams, Slack, Google Chat, Workplace, and Glip), knowledge sharing (Sharepoint, Google Drive, Igloo, Guru, and Github), and email (Office 365, Gmail, and Exchange). These integrations allow users to easily obtain support without having to switch between different tools or interfaces.

Moveworks also offers an API studio that lets developers add other use cases like sending messages to specific employees and creating better knowledge articles based on real-time recommendations on top of the Moveworks’ platform.

Moveworks’ products are built on its proprietary model, “MoveLM,” and several models from other providers, including OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Google’s Flan-T5, combined with a proprietary dataset of over 500 million synthetic workplace conversations.

With a presence in the US, Europe, and the Middle East, Moveworks expanded its operations to India in March 2022, with plans to further expand operations in Asia.

Key customers and partnerships

As of April 2024, Moveworks served over 100 customers, including Palo Alto Networks, Broadcom, Autodesk, Verisk, DocuSign, Equinix, Slack, and LinkedIn.

Moveworks has entered several partnerships with companies like Wipro, Nexthink, TCS, CAI, and Carasoft to offer integrated solutions. It partnered with Microsoft in April 2024 to strengthen its AI and ML capabilities on Microsoft Azure.

Funding and financials

Moveworks raised USD 315 million in total as of April 2023, with the most recent round being a USD 200 million Series C in June 2021, valuing the company at USD 2.1 billion. The funds were to be used to expand operations and business reach.
