Infosys (NYSE: INFY) is an Indian multinational information technology and consultancy company that provides end-to-end solutions for business development. It is one of the largest listed IT and consultancy services firms globally. The company went public in 1993 and was listed on the National Stock Exchange in India, following which it was listed on the NASDAQ exchange in 1999 and the NYSE in 2012. Infosys was among the top five largest Indian companies by market capitalization ( June 2024 ). It generated revenue of INR 1.5 trillion (~USD 18 billion) in FY2023 (year ended March 31st). 

The company primarily offers IT-based solutions with a focus on enterprise system implementation, consulting, software application development across a product’s life cycle, infrastructure management and maintenance, business process management, and innovation. These solutions are primarily offered through the company’s flagship platform, Infosys Cobalt , which provides cloud-based solutions to multiple industries. Infosys mainly generates revenue from the sale of IT services in the form of fixed-price contracts. The company had a total of 1,872 active clients as of FY2023.

North America was Infosys’ largest market, which represented ~62% of total revenue in FY2023, followed by ~26% from Europe. The company operated in more than 55 countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific as of March 2024. Having achieved carbon-neutral status for internal operations in FY2020, Infosys plans on reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 75% and Scope 3 emissions by 30% by 2030 (compared to the FY2020 levels).
