Zippin launches a checkout-free store at a Dave & Busters in Florida

Geographic expansion

  • Zippin, the San Francisco-based checkout-free technology solutions provider, has partnered with Dallas-based restaurant and entertainment business, Dave & Buster’s Entertainment Inc, to launch a checkout-free store at a Dave & Busters located in Hollywood, ​​Florida. 

  • Customers can enter the store by tapping their credit card, and sensors inside the store will track the items picked up and charge customers upon exit. 

<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake: The checkout-free store format is being increasingly adopted at venues such as sports and entertainment venues, where customers have a need for an urgent checkout option. In March 2022, Zippin also partnered with food service company Aramark to open a second checkout-free store in Houston’s NRG Stadium. In April, Amazon launched its Walk out technology and Amazon one in multiple sports arenas such as the Seattle major league baseball stadium T-Mobile Park and Houston Astros’ baseball stadium . In April Instacart deployed Caper Counter at Boston’s Fenway Park .<ul>
