Amazon to open three checkout free stores with Just Walk Out and Amazon One technologies at Kyle Field football stadium

Geographic expansion

  • Amazon has partnered with Texas A&M Athletics, Levy, and DBK Studio to open the first collegiate venue with stores featuring Amazon’s Just Walkout and Amazon One technologies. The checkout-free stores will be opened at Kyle Field football stadium, located on the campus of Texas A&M University and the home of the Texas A&M Aggies.

  • The venue will have three checkout-free stores that will be opened in time for the college football season, where fans can purchase products such as snacks, chips, soda, bottled water, and alcoholic beverages.

<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake: Checkout-free technology is being increasingly adopted by stores located at sports arenas and stadiums. Prior to Kyle Field football stadium, Amazon launched its Just Walk out technology and Amazon One in sports arenas such as the Seattle major league baseball stadium T-Mobile Park and Houston Astros’ baseball stadium . Amazon’s competitors have also deployed their checkout-free technologies at sports arenas.   In March 2022, Zippin partnered with food service company Aramark to open checkout-free stores in Houston’s NRG Stadium , while Instacart deployed Caper Counter at Boston’s Fenway Park in April 2022.<ul>
