Anaergia, a TSX-listed waste-to-energy company, has reported its Q2 2022 results. The company generated revenue of CAD 42.2 million (USD 32.8 million) for the quarter, up 57.5% YoY. This was driven by capital sales projects in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
Anaergia reported an operating loss of CAD 4.8 million (USD 3.7 million) for the quarter, up 137.2% YoY. This was due to an increase in cost of sales (+64.1% YoY), general and administrative costs (+60.9% YoY) and R&D costs (+45.9% YoY).
The company maintained its revenue guidance for the fiscal year 2022 at CAD 230.4 million (USD 179.3 million).
Key operational highlights for the quarter:
<ul><li>Anaergia announced the commissioning of its second biomethane facility “Calimera Bio” in Italy which will convert 24,000 tons of organic waste into 2.19 million cubic meters of renewable natural gas (RNG) per annum.</ul>
<ul><li>Anaergia deployed its proprietary equipment at a new wastewater treatment plant known as the Sterling Natural Resources Center (SNRC) in California where the company’s proprietary digestion technology will convert 130,000 gallons of food waste and sewage biosolids per day into biogas.</ul>
<ul><li>The company also signed a contract to supply its organic waste treatment solutions to the joint venture selected by Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) for its Tuas Nexus integrated waste management facility (IWMF) engineering, procurement, and construction package 2(EPC2) contract.</ul>
<ul><li>Anaergia also partnered with Toyo Energy Solution to deploy a biogas facility in Okayama, Japan which will power a combined heat and power (CHP) generator system to produce 1.2 megawatts of renewable electricity.</ul>
