Steakholder Foods (formerly MeaTech), an Israeli cell-cultured meat developer, announced its newest development Omakase Beef Morsels, a highly marbled 3D-printed 100% cultured beef cut, which the company claims is a first of its kind.
The product is inspired by the marbling standard of Wagyu beef and is made of several layers using two different bio-inks for muscle and fat which can be customized and printed based on different muscle and fat combinations which impacts the juiciness and marbling of the cut.
The company believes that its latest tech development will likely place it on the frontline of the market once the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) produces a regulatory road map.
