Einride, a Swedish tech developer for autonomous and electric trucks, introduced its technology in Germany. The company will set up a regional office in Berlin and local logistics hubs in Hamburg and Ruhr.
The company will provide its electric and autonomous trucks powered by its proprietary fleet mobility platform, “Einride Saga,” and charge infrastructure to its customers in Germany.
Einride secured partnerships with German companies, including global appliance company Electrolux.
Analyst QuickTake: With operations already in Sweden, Einride recently expanded its presence to the US and obtained approval to conduct driverless operations from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) in the US. The company also has truck purchase agreements with automakers including Mercedes-Benz, for 120 trucks for deployments in Europe, which might support the expansion to the German market. The necessary funds for the expansion came in May 2021, when the company raised USD 110 million in a Series B funding round to scale up deployments in Europe to reach countries such as Germany.
