Wicked Kitchen, a UK-based company producing plant-based meats, announced it raised USD 20 million in a bridge funding round, which included investments from renowned actor Woody Harrelson, Ahimsa VC, and NRPT.
The funding is expected to aid in increased efforts of global brand awareness and expansion of retail distribution with the addition of new channels to include food service.
The company also stated it has more than tripled its YoY sales growth, with its products being available across 6,500 retailers in the US (just a year after launching in the US) in addition to the launch of 23 products on Finland's S-Market.
Analyst QuickTake: In September 2022, Wicked Kitchen acquired Good Catch’s North American channels from Gathered Foods to expand its portfolio. Following its USD 14 million Series A funding in July 2021, the company launched in the US and has ramped up its efforts in global expansion which is likely to get an additional boost from its most recent funding.
