Volta Trucks, a Sweden-based developer of fully electric trucks, announced the first trial deployment of its “Volta Zero” electric truck-as-a-service along with charging infrastructure with Heppner, a France-based transport and logistics solutions provider.
The company will roll out 16 trucks for Heppner’s operations in La Courneuve and Lyon in France. Necessary charging infrastructure will also be installed in partnership with Volta Trucks’ partner Seimens.
Analyst QuickTake: Volta Trucks first launched the Volta Zero prototype in September 2020 and manufactured the first production verification prototype in September 2022. Today’s news is in line with the company’s previously stated plans to start customer trials by end-2022 and commence series production in 2023 (16-tonne model).
