Israel-based cultivated meat producer Believer Meats and global nutrition company Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) have signed a non-exclusive memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the development and commercialization of cultivated meat products.
Under the MOU, ADM and Believer Meats will collaborate to explore various opportunities in the cultivated meat production process. ADM will offer its ingredient pantry and nutrition knowledge to enhance Believer's cell-cultivated meat process.
Additionally, the non-exclusive agreement establishes the possibility of commercializing new products that result from this partnership. ADM believes that this partnership will help to fulfill the rising global demand for food security and sustainability by expanding the protein ecosystem.
Analyst QuickTake: Known formerly as Future Meat Technologies, Believer Meats’ partnership with ADM comes months after the company announced breaking ground of a 200,000 sq ft cultivated meat production facility in Wilson, North Carolina, claimed to be the largest cultivation meat facility in the world, with an annual capacity of more than 10,000 metric tons (~22 million lbs). More recently, Believer Meats appointed CPG veteran Gustavo Burger as the chief executive officer.
