Volta Trucks, a Sweden-based developer of fully electric trucks, has begun series production of its 16-ton electric truck, Volta Zero, in Steyr, Austria.
The first batch of trucks will be used for the “Volta Zero Driving Experience Program,” which educates the customers on the usage of the Volt Zero vehicles and allows customers to test drive the vehicles, test the product quality, and see how they fit into their fleets. The company plans to deliver Volta Zero trucks to customers later this year.
Volta Trucks is set to simultaneously kick off the next stage of its product lifecycle, where the trucks will undergo quality assurance and validation testing before being delivered to customers.
Analyst QuickTake: The production of the Volta Zero has been completed in just two and a half years. The company first manufactured the Volta Zero production verification prototype in September 2022 and last month. The company plans to commence its series production in Europe by Q2 2023, which will now be followed by its Austrian production.
